Hello all, and Happy New Year!
Well, it’s already the 3rd of January and I’m late getting this posted…..
I honestly had plans for more posts over the last couple weeks, but between my kids getting sick and the whirlwind of business that this time of year brings, things got away from me and now I am scrambling to get back on track. One day I will be so organized that my posts will be written ahead of time and I won’t have this issue. But for now, it is what it is. 🙂
I have always loved New Year’s, the fresh start and the whole ‘resolutions’ thing. There’s something exciting about having the whole year ahead and the opportunity create goals and plans to shape the whole thing.
Admittedly, I’m also the person that tends to get too ambitious and falls off the bandwagon by February or March.
Less is more for me with New Year goals.
My focus this year is on Virtue.
First and foremost, I sat down and wrote out the virtues I’d most like to grow this year as a wife and mother.
Next I wrote down the traits I’d like to see in my home: Joy, humor, music, encouragement, and patience.
What kind of wife do I want to be? And where do I fail the most?
What kind of mother do I want to be? How do I attain that?
I encourage you to try this too.
It really brought into focus what’s important to me and my family and where I can definitely put in a lot more work.
This sermon was also quite helpful to me, so I thought I’d share it here too.
And now, the real reason for this post: The prayer for the month.
Efficacious Prayer to the Infant Jesus
O, Child Jesus, I have recourse to Thee. Through Thy holy Mother, I implore Thee to assist me in this, my necessity: for I firmly believe that Thou canst aid me. I confidently hope to obtain Thy holy grace. I love Thee with my whole heart and my whole soul. I am heartily sorry for my sins and I entreat Thee, O good Jesus, to give me strength to overcome them.
I am firmly resolved never to offend Thee again, and to suffer everything rather than displease Thee. Henceforth, I wish to serve Thee faithfully. For love of Thee, O Divine Child, I will love my neighbor as myself. O Jesus, omnipotent Child, I entreat Thee again to come to my assistance in this necessity (indicate your intention).
Grant that I may possess Thee eternally, with Mary and Joseph, and adore Thee with Thy holy angels and saints in heaven.
Amen
Let’s make 2026 our holiest year yet!
Please pray for me and know that I pray for you, too.
God Bless!
Amy
